What Is This Chart Showing?
Bitcoin miners currently generate revenue from two sources:
- Transaction fees
- Mining rewards
This chart combines both of those sources of revenue to show the total revenue earned by bitcoin miners over time.
Fees are earned when a miner successfully validates a block. The miner earns all the transaction fees from the transactions in that block.
The miner then also receives a mining reward of newly minted bitcoins.
